Perceived lack of readership bestows a certain sense of luxury

in that I can go for days and days without posting, and I don't get too worked up about it.

I presented at a professional conference yesterday, and before my session I sat in on one about librarians and blogging. The keynote question was, "Why blog?" Why indeed? I started this one to talk about computers, music and politics. Lately, it's been mostly about politics, and the incredible culture of priviledged corruption spawned by the current administration - or maybe it was just refined and perfected by them. Buffed to a high sheen. I can see myself! Anyway, I guess it's gotten harder and harder for me to muster the necessary righteous outrage to take time out of my day to get on here and rant about how dirty all these guys are, possible because now the mainstream media has finally taken up the torch.

Now all they need are some pitchforks. I think I have some around here somewheres.

I think this year I'll try to refocus the mission here on creative efforts and tech, which is really what I get worked up about anyway.

Coming up: Intel Macs, Micro$oft WMF exploits, broadband cellular, and Pro Tools 7. I may discuss all or none of these topics. I have a record to finish, after all.

Happy 2006, y'all. Here's to front-yard fireworks...
