Robert Fripp gets pretty for Windows
This post has video of Robert Fripp recording themes for Windows Vista in Redmond. If you'll remember, the Windows 95 start-up sound was created by Brian Eno. You gotta give the nerds at M$ props for their taste in prog rock / ambient pioneers.
Like Eno's innocuous bloom of piano notes, Fripp's work for the Evil Empire is tad bland and shapeless, but I guess we are talking about sounds for an OS. At least you'll get a diaphanous cascade of sweet guitar when Vista's multi-hued screen of despair pops up.
