Enough with the plural apostrophe already!

To the folks:

When you are adding an "s" to a word to make it plural, you do not - repeat: do not - use an apostrophe! This is the possessive form! For the love of Strunk, y'all, this is basic stuff, and I see it everywhere. I just saw it on a prominent liberal blog, in the headline of a post. Earlier this week I saw it in the address on an envelope containing a letter of reference to a prominent institution. At least that letter will probably be opened by a front office intern that doesn't know any better.

Your (not you're) assignment for the week ahead: go get a copy of Eats, Shoots and Leaves by Lynne Truss, along with the fourth edition of Elements of Style, and READ.

Bush masters mind control, talks to animals

I've been thinking about this a lot, and this morning my wife and I were discussing the many and varied skills of Condi Rice, she of the spicy footwear and mad, mad piano fu. Oh, yeah - and she's Secretary of State and she speaks Mongolian or whatever.

Consider the following: Ms. Rice holds a Master's from Notre Dame and a Ph.D; she was Provost of Stanford U. for six years; she's on the board of several major entities, not the least of which is the Rand Corporation, which through sophisticated computer analysis has successfully predicted the outcome of the Little League World Series every year since its inception; as mentioned previously, girl can play! Concert-level, son!

So, there's all that. And then she calls the President "My husband" in front of the Washington cognescenti at a swank dinner affair. What the deuce? I'll tell you, Stewie.

Mind Control.

We're talking about Masonic 33-degree Illuminati Ninja David Copperfield-style Mind Control. And George W. (Skull & Bones) Bush is a certified master. Why has she been a Bush sycophant since she was riding motorcross in Bakersfield? She served under Poppy, too. He's one too. Former Director of the CIA? Yeah, he's on that. Might as well change his name to Mentok right now.

Another amazing thing that Mr. Bush can do through his control of mind power is communicate with animals, as seen in this rare video capture (above) from the ultra-secret Global Congress of Animals, at Lake Victoria in 2004. He is seen at the podium with Global Animal Ambassador Edward Giraffe, Jr. and an unidentified cyborg. A representative of the ape press is in the foreground. Note the quality of the image - Bush's Mind Power is so strong that it interferes with electronic equipment.

Osama's liberal talking points

I know I said I wasn't going to talk about politics here anymore, but the nutjobs on the right just keep opening their stinking pie-holes.

Now they're saying Osama's latest missive echoes American lefty Bush-bashing talking points. Well, see, here it is - if Bush Baby had done what he said he was going to do (remember the whole "Dead or Alive" thing?) and brought Bin Ladin to justice, this would all be a moot point, wouldn't it? Instead, he took a right turn into Iraq to take out his Dad's nemesis while back home, his buddies DeLay et al was building the Republican Kleptocracy that has only recently collapsed into an orgy of indictments, plea deals and sanctimonious denials.

Basic cable turd merchants such as Matthews and Carlson can harp and whinney all they like, trying to link Osama and anti-Bushism in the American mind, but they can't hide the fact that this administration is a miserable, steaming failure, a criminal enterprise responsible for untold thousands of deaths and trillions in squandered treasure. Oh, yeah - and they're spying on you without due process.

New track up at MySpace

See the link at right - I'm not going to actively maintain the MySpace thing this year, but I did go ahead and put up a new track after Bernie Worrell (!) sent me a friends request.

I hope to have new goodies up at GarageBand soon, and I'll link when I do. I have a whole raft of new 'lectronical stuff in the hopper, and some of it I actually like. This may finally be the year a new tay0 disc comes out after all...

Go Google Go!

Google is resisting continuing efforts by the Bush cabal to assert authority over all information everywhere - apparently baseless domestic wiretaps ain't enough. And this isn't even terror related.

Robert Fripp gets pretty for Windows

This post has video of Robert Fripp recording themes for Windows Vista in Redmond. If you'll remember, the Windows 95 start-up sound was created by Brian Eno. You gotta give the nerds at M$ props for their taste in prog rock / ambient pioneers.

Like Eno's innocuous bloom of piano notes, Fripp's work for the Evil Empire is tad bland and shapeless, but I guess we are talking about sounds for an OS. At least you'll get a diaphanous cascade of sweet guitar when Vista's multi-hued screen of despair pops up.

Perceived lack of readership bestows a certain sense of luxury

in that I can go for days and days without posting, and I don't get too worked up about it.

I presented at a professional conference yesterday, and before my session I sat in on one about librarians and blogging. The keynote question was, "Why blog?" Why indeed? I started this one to talk about computers, music and politics. Lately, it's been mostly about politics, and the incredible culture of priviledged corruption spawned by the current administration - or maybe it was just refined and perfected by them. Buffed to a high sheen. I can see myself! Anyway, I guess it's gotten harder and harder for me to muster the necessary righteous outrage to take time out of my day to get on here and rant about how dirty all these guys are, possible because now the mainstream media has finally taken up the torch.

Now all they need are some pitchforks. I think I have some around here somewheres.

I think this year I'll try to refocus the mission here on creative efforts and tech, which is really what I get worked up about anyway.

Coming up: Intel Macs, Micro$oft WMF exploits, broadband cellular, and Pro Tools 7. I may discuss all or none of these topics. I have a record to finish, after all.

Happy 2006, y'all. Here's to front-yard fireworks...
