William Gibson gets some of that CNN love
Gibson has always been one of my favorites - he's the only author I collect in hardback, anyway. I met him when he was in Atlanta signing Pattern Recognition and thanked him for saving Science Fiction.
He looked sorta bemused and said, "I don't think I did a very good job."
His last two have been great; now that the world of Today has essentially caught up with his vision of Tomorrow, he writes realistic fiction about Right Now that still manages to feel like Sci-Fi.
